Comparison of POF and PE,PVC Shrink Wrap


First, Different Definitions

POF is the meaning of Heat Shrink Wrap, the full name of POF multi-layer co-extruded polyolefin Heat Shrink Wrap, it is linear low-density polyethylene as an intermediate layer (LLDPE), polypropylene (pp) as the inner and outer layers, through three extruders plasticized extrusion, and then through the die molding, film bubble blowing and other special processes.

Second, Different Uses

PE Shrink Wrap is widely used in wine, cans, mineral water, all kinds of beverages, cloth and other products of the whole package, the product has good flexibility, impact resistance, tear resistance, not easy to damage, not afraid of moisture, shrinkage rate.

Due to the unique properties of PVC (rain proof, fire resistance, antistatic, easy molding) and the characteristics of low input and high output of PVC, it is widely used in the building materials industry and packaging industry, therefore, PVC Shrink Wrap has high transparency, good gloss and high shrinkage.

POF is a kind of Heat Shrink Wrap, mainly used for packaging regular and irregular shape products, because of its non-toxic environmental protection, high transparency, high shrinkage, good heat sealing performance, high gloss, toughness, tear resistance, heat shrink uniform and suitable for automatic high-speed packaging and other characteristics, is the replacement of traditional PVC Heat Shrink Wrap.

Widely used in automotive supplies, plastic products, stationery, books, electronics, circuit boards, MP3, VCD, crafts, photo frames and other wood products, toys, pesticides, daily necessities, food, cosmetics, canned beverages, dairy products, medicine, cassette and video and other products.

Third, The Physical Performance Is Different

1. Cost

The specific gravity of POF is 0.92, the thickness is the thinnest 0.01mm, and the actual unit cost is low.

PE proportion 0.92, the thinnest thickness of 0.03 or more, the actual unit cost is higher.

The specific gravity of PVC is 1.4, the thickness is the thinest 0.02mm, and the actual unit cost is higher.

2. Phyto Sunactyl

POF thin and tough, uniform thickness, good moisture resistance, soft texture. High tensile strength, tear resistance, adjustable shrinkage. Due to the presence of LLDPE, better kneading resistance.

PE thick and tough, uniform thickness, good moisture resistance, soft texture. Tear resistance is lower than POF, but much higher than PVC, and the shrinkage rate is poor adjustable. Kneading resistance is not as good as POF.

PVC is thick and brittle, uneven thickness, poor moisture resistance, hard and brittle texture. Low strength, low shrinkage, poor kneading resistance.

3, Cold Resistance And Other Physical Properties

POF cold resistance is excellent, -50℃ is not hard, not brittle, not easy to break, can be used for frozen food packaging. After shrink packaging, the packaged material is stored for a long time at -50℃ -95℃, stable and unchanged. Electrostatic and anti-fog treatment, not easy to pollute dust, can keep the product clean and bright.

PE has excellent cold resistance, in winter or after freezing, it is not hard, not embrittlement, so it is not easy to break during transportation. Electrostatic elimination treatment, not easy to stain dust, can keep the product clean.

PVC cold resistance is very poor, winter or freezing will occur embrittlement, so it is easy to break during transportation. The longer the shrink packaging, the tighter the contraction will be, and the packaged object will be deformed. No static elimination treatment, easy to be contaminated with dust, so that the product pollution fuzzy.

4, Processing Performance

POF processing does not produce water and does not stick to the sealing rod, easy maintenance and operation. High toughness, smoothness and kneading resistance make it suitable for automatic packaging in high-speed production lines.

PE processing does not produce water, nor does it stick to the sealing rod, easy maintenance and operation. High toughness, low kneading, can be used for high-speed production line automatic packaging.

PVC processing process will produce volatile, easy to cause mechanical damage, and easy to stick to the sealing rod, inconvenient operation, difficult maintenance.

5. Security

After POF shrink packaging, the four corners of the seal are soft, will not cut hands, and can be rubbed.

After PE shrink packaging, the sealing corners are soft and will not cut hands.

After PVC shrink packaging, the four corners of the seal are hard and sharp, easy to cut and bleed.
